Friendship that makes independence possible.
Amicitia Reciproca is a Colorado nonprofit building friendships between volunteers and people with spinal cord injuries: cooking together, getting out, and sharing everyday life. We're just getting started, and we'd love your help.
We're just getting started.
Amicitia Reciproca has been a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 2022, and so far every dollar has come from our founder and board. We have a mission, a plan, and deep roots in the Colorado spinal cord injury community. Now we're applying for our first grants and looking for supporters to help us launch our first programs.
Friendship first.
Our name means reciprocal friendship. Volunteers and people with spinal cord injuries share everyday life together: cooking, errands, outings, and projects. It isn't a care service and it isn't a job. It's a friendship with structure and support, where both people grow and both people belong.
Rooted in Colorado, starting in Fort Collins.
We're starting close to home in Northern Colorado, where our founder's ties to Colorado State University and Craig Hospital run deep. As the program grows, we hope to bring it to other Colorado communities.
